Sustainability

Sustainability, Community & Social Responsibility.

At Freo Group, we are all accountable for the social responsibilities and expectations of our employees and stakeholders, as well as the local, Australian and international communities.

Freo Group’s processes and plans are aligned with the principles of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We believe in being socially responsible and doing our part to better the communities in which we live and work. We are committed to our set targets, which we have currently exceeded.

Our People.

We are dedicated to ensuring our people are given every possible opportunity to grow and excel both in their careers and in self-development.

Our objective is to engage the best person to do the best possible job whilst remaining open-minded to every applicant.

Through training and development, we aim to ensure respect, equality and inclusion are prioritised across our workforce.

Equal Opportunity.

We are an equal opportunity employer.

Freo Group provides training, development and initiatives that are focused on engaging:

  • Gender Balance
  • Indigenous Employment
  • People with Disabilities
  • Gender Diversity
  • Aged Workforce

Indigenous Employment.

Freo Group’s targeted approach to increasing the Indigenous workforce and our involvement with Indigenous businesses and communities nationally is a focus across our entire operation.

Through our engagement and consultation with Indigenous peoples, we aim to establish long-term working relationships to achieve measurable and sustainable outcomes in the regions where Freo Group is situated.

Environment, Social & Governance (ESG)

Freo Group is aligning our operations with ESG principles, recognising the importance of sustainability and responsible governance.

We are making concerted efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance overall sustainability.

  • We are adopting cleaner technologies and investing in Hybrid Light Vehicles (LV) that minimise fuel consumption and emissions.
  • We have partnered with an end-to-end recycling facility for end-of-life tyres in Western Australia and are collaborating with a waste recycling company to enhance our recycling efforts, reduce landfill waste, and promote sustainable practices for a greener future.

Community Engagement.

Freo Group is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate.

We take pride in our investment and engagement with local organisations, from community and sporting groups to schools and charitable initiatives.  Our team actively encourages collaboration and provides assistance to various events and programs that enhance the quality of life for residents. By fostering strong relationships and contributing resources, we aim to empower local initiatives and create a positive impact, ensuring that our communities thrive alongside us, creating a bright and positive future for everyone.

Responsible Business

Accountability at every height.

Freo Group’s approach to social responsibility is supported through strong governance, ethical business practices and responsible supply chain management.

We maintain a discrimination-free workplace culture and participate in annual modern slavery reporting while continuing to engage with suppliers and partners to support responsible practices throughout our supply chain.

Our broader sustainability and social responsibility initiatives are guided by internationally recognised frameworks, including alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Because leadership at this level is measured not only by operational performance, but by the positive impact we create beyond the work itself.
